Neon Heart

The Neon Heart series represents a bold exploration of the tension between the primal and the refined. In these vivid, surreal compositions, wild creatures—rendered with unflinching anatomical precision—invade ornate domestic interiors laden with Baroque flourishes and rich textile patterns.

Each painting challenges the viewer to reconsider the boundary between the wild and the civilized, suggesting that beneath our cultivated surfaces lies an untamed vitality. The juxtaposition of raw, organic forms against the geometric order of wallpaper, parquet floors, and decorative moldings creates a visual friction that is both unsettling and mesmerizing.

Working in oil on canvas, Fikl employs a hyperrealistic technique to render both animal and architectural elements with equal intensity, refusing to privilege one realm over the other. The result is a body of work that questions our relationship with nature, domesticity, and the boundaries we construct to separate the two.
